Drawing tough draws across the board, the Boys Varsity Tennis team didn’t back down from the challenges, and had a great day of play. Juniors Lukas Prepelka and Adam Engleka won their first round matches – 6-1 over West Allegheny and 8-6 over Blackhawk.

But the best play of the day was saved for the Doubles courts. Juniors Owen Schriver and Ethan O’Brian as a 13 seed knocked off Blackhawk first, 6-4, and then beat Neshannock 8-2. In they Semis, they matched up with top seed Quaker Valley, and won the first 2 games of the match, but eventually fell to tough competition.

The Cougars will rest up this weekend, and prepare for a busy week starting with a non-section match against Ambridge on Monday the 12th. This match will be played at Bradys Run Park’s indoor courts, starting around 3 PM.
