Carlynton was ready to play from the first whistle against a formidable section opponent, Winchester Thurston. Stiff defensive play by both sides had the game at 0-0 by halftime. But the second half opened up some scoring. Savannah Sevacko gave the Cougars a one goal advantage early in the second half but WT quickly countered and before they knew it, Cougars where down 2-1. However with pure determination and grit, a Sofia Notaro corner quick found Sevacko and the score was tied once again. Doing everything possible to not allow this match to go into overtime, a WT hand ball in the box, late in the game, gave Anya Carassco the opportunity to put the Cougars ahead. And that she did, by burying a PK past the GK. Sevacko with her second hattrick of the season, took a late break away opportunity and sealed the deal for a 4-2 victory. Way To Go Cougars. PROVE THEM WRONG.
Carlynton travels to Eden on Wednesday for what’s sure to be a “HOT” section matchup.
