The Girls team traveled to Burgettstown knowing that a perfect season and a post-season berth were still alive. The girls came out firing on all cylinders and never looked back as they took a 1st place in EVERY event on the track showing why they are a team with their eyes on the prize! The 4×800 team of Abby Sysak, Brooklynne Prepelka, Gina Ulizzi and Mackenzie Huet started the meet off uncontested and taking 1st place. Gwen Kalimon followed up with a PR in the 100 hurdles and followed up later with a PR in the 300 hurdles taking 1st place in both events. Ainsley Smith and Alaina Barlock continue to improve and took 1st and 2nd respectively in the 100 and 200. Erin LaQuatra came out on top of the 1600 and 800. The young 4×100 team continues to improve in only their second race and remain undefeated. Lauren Kirsch took 1st in the 400 immediately after running the 4×100. Abby Sysak recorded a PR in the 3200 and continues to improve drastically each meet. The 4×400 team was pressed but came out on top with another top performance. In the jumps, Azjia Gardner took 1st place and also recorded a PR in the triple jump to finish off the scoring for the Cougars! The lady Cougars have South Park and Chartiers-Houston remaining on the schedule as they look to remain undefeated and win a section championship!
