It can be a challenge to start a bowling season on a high note. Lanes can feel too oily, and pins may seem like they have a mind of their own. However, tonight…something pretty special occurred. Not only did our Boys’ Bowling team sweep a competitive bowling team over at Canevin, but we managed to set individual records and shatter a yearly team goal!
Gabe Prepelka set the tone for our season with a Game 1 score, and personal best, 279! He managed to knock down every single pin! If you know anything about a 750 series, you understand the awesomeness of Gabe’s 759 series, and if you don’t understand, I’ll just let you know it is pretty ridiculous! You can even head on over to Bowl.com/awards and compare it to the pros. Normally, Mason Small’s 233 would be the highlight of any match, so it still deserves admiration! Andrew Weimer’s 204 should also get noticed!
As a collective unit, the boys cashed in 1,050 pins in the first game of the season…a mark any team strives for once in a season! A 7-0 start to our season is due to all 5 Varsity bowlers maintaining focus and determination. Our Varsity girls took a loss tonight, but there’s smiles showed they had fun and their great sportsmanship should be commended!
There’s something special about our student-athletes on both squads this year. Check out their superb attitudes and heroic feats at the lanes this season! Tomorrow, Thursday Dec. 6th, you can come support them at Crafton-Ingram lanes where we take on our fresh rivals, Montour! It promises to be a smashing good time!
